Himangini Singh Yadu-Sushmita Sen

Himangini Singh Yadu brings the coveted Miss Asia Pacific crown home after twelve years. Her mentor Sushmita Sen was present at the airport to receive her.

Himangini Singh Yadu, who was specially trained by Sushmita Sen under her I Am She programme won the Miss Asia Pacific 2012 title at the beauty pageant held in Busan, South Korea. Himangini is the first of Sushmita’s protégés to make a mark in an international beauty pageant.

“We did it! The entire team is extremely happy and very proud of Himangini for winning the international title… She has so beautifully represented India and won us back that sweet taste of victory,” said Sushmita Sen after her win.

The last time India won the title was in 2000 when Dia Mirza was crowned Miss Asia Pacific. On winning the beauty pageant, Himangini Singh Yadu said. “I am extremely thankful to the entire I AM She team and Sushmita Sen... I couldn’t have done it without them! I am extremely thrilled at making them and India proud.”
