The popular men’s magazine Maxim has come out with its list of hottest female celebrities for the year 2012 and topping it is supermodel Bar Refaeli.

The 26-year-old is elated at the honour in Maxim's 2012 Hot 100 list. She took to Twitter to express her joy.

"So happy and honored to be #1 on #Maximhot100! thank you @maximmag! This is very exciting," Bar Refaeli tweeted.

Described by the magazine as the Definitive List of the World’s Most Beautiful Women, the top ten features hotties like Mila Kunis, Katy Perry, Megan Fox and Emma Stone. This year was the first time Maxim had their readers help decide who is on the list.

Twilight star Kristen Stewart is placed at 15th spot on the list, followed by Charlize Theron and Scarlett Johansson. Rihanna is all the way down at 32 on the list, and Jennifer Lopez is on 37.

Other popular beauties like Miley Cyrus (placed 68), Sofia Vergara (71) and Nicki Minaj (79) failed to make it to even the top 50. Kate Middleton's little sister Pippa Middleton debuted at No. 81.
