'Joker' first trailer: Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha’s big alien hoax!

Welcome to Paglapur

When being human doesn’t work, try being alien! That’s the golden idea Akshay Kumar’s character stumbles upon to attract the world’s attention towards his non-descript, forgotten village Paglapur in director Shirish Kunder’s much-awaited film Joker.

The film has Akshay Kumar playing an NRI and Sonakshi Sinha his wife. He returns to his village Paglapur only to find it totally neglected by the government. To his utter dismay his finds out that Paglapur doesn’t even feature anywhere on the map of India. Thereafter, he hatches an ingenious idea to capture the entire world’s attention: by creating a hoax!

The trailer opens with bird’s eye view of crop circles, often associated by UFO freaks as messages from aliens. When a similar crop circle appears in Paglapur, the world media descends for their fix of sensationalism. Akshay Kumar, pretending as an illiterate gaonwala tells a reporter of having sighted a UFO, that is Udta Firta Omlette.

But the question is: how long can the madcap villagers of Paglapur keep the hoax going? Will someone call their bluff? And what if aliens descend on this village for real?

All the questions will be answered when Joker releases on August 31. Directed by Shirish Kunder and produced by Farah Khan, it’s a film with an unusual storyline.
