Hollywood beauty Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella Swan in the Twilight franchise, has been named by Forbes as the highest paid actress.

According to Forbes, the 22-year-old Twilight star earned an estimated $34.5 million (£22m) from May 2011 to May 2012 year and pushed the last year’s topper Angelina Jolie into fourth place.

Most of Kristen Stewart’s money came from ‘Twilight’ where she stars as Bella Swan. But she also earned big buck for starring in Snow White and the Huntsman.

"Kristen Stewart is an up-and-coming star," said Dorothy Pomerantz, Forbes Los Angeles bureau chief.

"She is earning a lot of money from one of the most successful franchises of all time. This is who you would expect to see right now.

"This year you are seeing somebody young and at the brink of potentially great stardom sitting on the top of the list."

To determine the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood, Forbes considered upfront pay, profit participation, residuals, endorsements and advertising work.

The top ten highest earning actresses also includes Angelina Jolie (last year’s topper), Sandra Bullock, Charlize Theron and Cameron Diaz. Check out ahead who’s placed on which spot.
