Brave

A collaboration of Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures, the animated movie Brave is set to release in the US and India this Friday, 22 June! So, will it be worth your time? We think it would be! Read below to know why!

We’ve seen animated movies, several of them, where the hero is a male character! However, in Brave, we see a female character as the hero; it’s definitely a breath of fresh air!

The film centers on Princess Merida (voice by Kelly Macdonald)! Her parents want her to get married! Conversely, Merida is completely against this idea of an arranged marriage (or marriage, for that matter) and wants to live life on her own terms!

Despite being born in a royal and princely family, Merida is not tender! She is an archer and is plucky -- or rather, as the film’s title says: Brave! With the help of an old woman, she gets a spell cast on self to change her fate! After reading grave lines like ‘change her fate’, you know the task isn’t going to be a cakewalk!

Brave looks an interesting film, with some awesome 3D effects, and an interesting plot! The film should particularly strike a chord with all female teens!
