The Nominated Actresses

The Oscar fever is gripping one and all! And we understand that you are curious to learn more about the nominations for this year! So, after presenting the nominations for the Best Actor in a Leading Role category yesterday, today, we have in store for you the nominations for the Best Actress in a Leading Role category and their past stints at the Academy Awards!

Meanwhile, just in case you are unaware, the 84th Academy Awards 2012 will be held this Sunday, 26th February (Monday morning IST) at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center

Anyhow, here are the names of the nominations for the Best Actress in a Leading Role category:

1 - Glenn Close
2 - Viola Davis
3 - Rooney Mara
4 - Meryl Streep
5 - Michelle Williams

Interestingly, except Rooney Mara, all the other actresses have previously been nominated in at least one of the categories! In fact, Meryl Streep has a whopping 17 nominations in her kitty!
